A Muslim University student who was stabbed more than 15 times last year, Police have arrested a person.

Police have made progress and have confirmed that they have arrested a 16 year old boy on suspicion of murdering Saudi University student Nahid Almanea.

The Independent reports:

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing a Saudi student and a father-of-five to death in Essex.

One of his alleged victims was stabbed more than 100 times, while the other was attacked as she walked to the University of Essex campus.

The teenager, who has not been named, was arrested on the Salary Brook Trail in Colchester on Tuesday.

That is the same path where Nahid Almanea, a student from Saudi Arabia, was stabbed to death on 17 June last year.

Wearing a traditional abaya and hijab, the 31-year-old was walking from her student accommodation in nearby Woodrow Way to the university complex in Wivenhoe. She died of stab wounds after being attacked at around 10.40am.
