The senseless and savage killing of innocent people in Munich has saddened many people in Germany and around the world. Their families and friends haven’t stopped mourning for their lost ones. Those that have left, have not yet been buried. It has made us and many others speechless and our thoughts go out to the families of those who lost their loved ones.
Before any facts were released, right-wingers blamed refugees for this barbaric killing of innocent people.
Now details have emerged that the gunman was a 18-year-old by the name of Ali DAVID Sonboly, a German citizen from Iranian descent. Police have reported that he was born and bred in Germany. His motive is unknown at the moment. Police have confirmed that the ‘lone’ gunman killed himself, committed suicide.

The right-wing media have gone into overdrive over Munich, blaming Islam, Muslims and Syrian refugees who have fled their war-torn country.
No facts have been even released other than he was a German citizen of Iranian descent, right-wingers have already made their mind up that this killing is solely to be blamed on Islam.
A pseudo eye-witness which has not been confirmed by German authorities has claimed that she heard ‘Allahu Akbar’ (Translation: God is Great). This has not been reported in German newspapers. Only the right-wingers in America and Britain have reported such unverified statement.
Being Iranian does not automatically mean you are a Muslim. Vast majority of Iranians that came to Europe or that were born in European countries actually follow the Christian faith (and here). Just to be clear, I am not saying that he is a Christian or belongs to any other faith. Just pointing a fact out, that just because you or your parents may be from Iran that does not automatically mean you are a ‘Muslim’.
I must say that those who are exploiting this tragedy in Munich are really disgusting opportunists who will use any situation, no matter how horrific and sad for their personal evil gains. They use the rhetoric of fear, and bashing Muslims, to spread further hate and division in communities.
For some to assume and claim that Munich gunman is a ‘Muslim’ without a shred of evidence, just shows how sick and despicable the society we are living in.
I will leave readers with the many quotes where Prophet Muhammed (p) categorically forbade (prohibited) the shedding the blood of women and children.
Sahih al-Bukhari:
Narrated `Abdullah: During some of the Ghazawat of the Prophet a woman was found killed. Allah’s Messenger DISAPPROVED the killing of women and children. (Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Hadith 257)
Sahih Muslim:
It is narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullah that a woman was found killed in one of the battles fought by the Messenger of Allah. He DISAPPROVED of the killing of women and children. (Sahih Muslim Book 19, Hadith 4319)
Sunan Ibn Majah
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet saw a woman who had been killed on the road, and he FORBADE killing women and children. (Sunan Ibn Majah, volume 4, Book 24, Hadith 2841)
Bulugh al-Maram:
Ibn ‘Umar (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah saw a woman who was killed in one of his expeditions, so he DISAPPROVED the killing of women and children. Agreed upon. (Bulugh al-Maram Book 11, Hadith 1313)
Sunan Abi Dawud:
‘Abd Allaah bin (mas’ud) said “A woman was found slain in one of the battles of the Apostle of Allaah. The Apostle of Allaah FORBADE to kill women and children. (Sunan Abi Dawud Book 14, Hadith 2662)
Muwatta Imam Malik:
Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw the corpse of a woman who had been slain in one of the raids, and he DISAPPROVED of it and FORBADE the killing of women and children. (Muwatta Imam Malik Book 21, Hadith 9)
Abu Bakr Siddique, the first Caliph of Islam also urged his companions not to kill women and children:
Abu Bakr states: … “I advise you ten things: DO NOT KILL women or children or an aged, infirm person. Do not cut down fruit-bearing trees. Do not destroy an inhabited place. Do not slaughter sheep or camels except for food. Do not burn bees and do not scatter them. Do not steal from the booty, and do not be cowardly.” (Muwatta Imam Malik Book 21, Hadith 10)
From the above reports we read that the Prophet (p) categorically forbade killing of women and children. Whoever goes against these commands quite clearly can’t call himself a ‘Muslim’, nor a follower of Islam that was brought to Mankind by Prophet Muhammed (p).

It is Islamically unlawful to murder anyone who is innocent of any crime.Hence, if any Muslim kills an innocent person, that Muslim has committed a grave sin, and the action cannot be claimed to have been committed in the name of Islam.It should be clear, then, that the oft-used term “Muslim terrorist” is almost an oxymoron: by killing innocent people, a Muslim is committing a grave sin, and Allah is Just. This phrase is offensive and demeaning of Islam, and it should be avoided.
