As beautiful Jo would have wanted, we need the community all to come together today and unite against violence, hate and the rising extremists, far-right, and Neo-Nazi groups.
Jo Cox was truly a beautiful woman inwardly and outwardly, who cared for the every human. She stood up for the poor, and refugees who fled war. She will be truly missed.
We hope Jo’s family finds peace through these hard times.
Statement from Muslim Council Of Britain (MCB):
Following the murder of Jo Cox MP, who was attacked outside her constituency office, the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain Dr Shuja Shafi said:
“I am shocked by the attack on Jo Cox and saddened to hear of her death. Jo was known for her tireless campaigning for human rights and for the disadvantaged. Her campaigning meant that she positively affected the lives of many people abroad and here in the UK as well. She spoke up for the children of Syria and campaigned for migrants to be welcomed here. My thoughts, prayers and condolences go to Jo’s young family and to her husband Brendan Cox, himself a good friend of Muslim civil society.”
