The Brexit campaign was pure hate. It had little to do with the economy, more to do with the hatred fuelled in the media about brown immigrants, especially Muslims.

Here is a brief interview yesterday from Barnsley, were people were asked how they felt leaving the EU:

Barnsley man: It is all about immigration. It is not about trade or Europe or anything like that it’s all about immigration. It is to stop the Muslims coming into this country. Simple as that.

Reporter: Do you think you voted to leave the EU to stop Muslims coming to the country?

Barnsley man: To stop immigration. The Movement of people in Europe fair enough. But not from Africa, Syria, Iraq, everywhere else, it is all wrong.
