The Daily Mail reports on the uploading of video footage showing a man racially abusing a taxi driver in south west London in a row over fare.
The male passenger was picked up by a black cab driver in Camberwell New Road and driven towards Fulham when he started becoming abusive towards the driver. The driver stopped on the King’s Road, Chelsea and asked the man to pay his fare and get out of the cab. When the man refused, the cab driver locked his doors. The passenger can be seen on video footage filmed by a camera in the cab talking into his phone saying “I’m locked in the f****** car.”
The man is then seen scrambling out of the cab through a window and abusing the driver with the words “Your mother’s a P*** you c***.”
Once outside the cab, he can be seen spitting at the driver and kicking the cab.
The incident happened on 22 March but the footage has only just been released when the driver of the black cab uploaded it onto YouTube in order to “name and shame” the passenger.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Kensington and Chelsea police via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
