The pastor of a Vacaville church pleaded not guilty Thursday to a half-dozen charges in connection with the suspected firebombing of his ex-girlfriend’s home and allegations that he fraudulently posted bail following his arrest.
Mark Lewis, 39, appearing shackled and wearing a Solano County Jail-issued jumpsuit, entered his pleas to two felony complaints in Solano County Superior Court in Fairfield.
Lewis is the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vacaville. Just as in prior court appearances for the embattled pastor, a contingent of church members were in attendance Thursday in a show of support.
Lewis remained jailed on Thursday on allegations related to the Jan. 9 firebombing of his ex-girlfriend’s home on Chateau Circle, also in Vacaville. Six people, including three children, were asleep inside the residence at the time, but no injuries were reported, police said.
Lewis’ ex-girlfriend was in the process of obtaining a restraining order against him at the time of the incident, a request that a judge has since granted.
