Nearly 2000 Palestinians, most of whom civilians, have been killed since the launch of Israel’s military campaign – ‘protective edge’. Of those 2000, 80% of them killed were innocent women and children. Israeli government’s PR (propaganda) campaign, has repeatedly pointed out that Palestinians have employed the strategy of using civilians as human shields. Sadly, the first casualty of war is truth, which makes it our duty as humans to do research, so we can extricate the truth out from fabricated lies. There is no evidence of ‘human shield’ by Palestinians, it is only a claim made by Israel, yet to be proven. All countries involved in wrongful wars have made absurd similar claims, later proven to be propaganda/lies. Israel has used the ‘human shield’ claim against Gaza in 2008-09. These claims have been investigated by various reputable Human rights organisations, all of whom refuted this claim. Personally, I believe the phrase ‘Human Shield’ has been deployed in order to shield Israeli government from responsibility for the bloodbath it has caused in Gaza.
The following quotes are from reputable Human rights organisations, which investigated Israel’s claims that Palestinians civilians were used as ‘Human shields’.
Amnesty International’s report into 2008-09 – ‘Operation Cast Lead’,
“Amnesty International, for its part, did not find evidence that Hamas or other Palestinian groups violated the laws of war to the extent repeatedly alleged by Israel. In particular, it found no evidence that Hamas or other fighters directed the movement of civilians to shield military objectives from attacks. By contrast, Amnesty International did find that Israeli forces on several occasions during Operation “Cast Lead” forced Palestinian civilians to serve as “human shields.” [1]
In addition to Amnesty International. The fact-finding mission, commissioned by UN and headed by South African Justice Richard Goldstone, who is of Jewish faith himself, to investigate war crimes committed by Israel, during its Gaza attack in 2009. Readers should be aware that the report has been heavily edited by journalists.
“The Goldstone Mission found no evidence to support the widespread charge by Israelis and their supporters that most of the civilian deaths and property damage were a consequence of deliberate Hamas ‘Human Shields’ strategy.” [2]
Recent evidence on ‘Human Shield’
Jeremy Bowen of the BBC’s Middle East editor, was in Gaza recently and stated the following,
“I saw no evidence during my week in Gaza of Israel’s accusation that Hamas uses Palestinians as human shields.” [3]
The Independent – “Israel-Gaza conflict: The myth of Hamas’s human shields”, July 29th 2014,
“Some Gazans have admitted they were afraid of critizing Hamas, but none have said they have been forced by the organization to stay in places of danger and become unwilling human shields…” [4]
Anna Baltzer is a Jewish-American public speaker, in July 2014, last month, she was on Fox News and said the following on the ‘Human shield’ claim,
“…there is no evidence that Hamas used Palestinians human shields as defined by International Law… but if you would like to talk about human shields Israel routinely uses Palestinians human shields, I have witnessed it with my own two eyes…” [5]
In the coming of months or maybe years we will learn more of Israel’s claims on the ‘Human shield’. It wouldn’t surprise me at all, when Human right organisations will investigate Israeli claims and will conclude as they have done in the past that, “there is no evidence of Human shield by Palestinians.” Watch, “Abby Martin breaks through the propaganda rhetoric of ‘Human Shields’, calling out instances such as the second Iraq War and the current conflict in Gaza where the term has been used to demonize the entire demographics and populations subjected to being overthrown.”

The “Human Shield” propaganda is working well on the masses. I wanted to reblog this as further explanation of the absurdity of the claim. People thinking they are in the “know” are playing this exact propaganda claim on Talkshoe shows. It sickening. The claim itself makes no sense.
